Four Formerly Funny Fellows Frown

Once he quit cocaine it was all downhill into the morass of mawkishness for Williams. For the others it was just age and chance.

Steve Martin was never funny. Neither was the guy named after the Maryland suburb, which he is now bigger than. Billy Crystal was always on the edge of sentimental crap, and was only funny when delivering other people's material.

If comedy is that hard on you, you're doing it wrong.

Amockalypse Now.
The Flab Four.

Robin Williams is the only comic, after Margaret Cho who can make me cry while watching him. He is that bad.

ChCh started the revival of today's crop of Jerry Lewis wannabees. Too bad, 'cause I prefer laughing to cringing.

Time certainly marches on, doesn't it?

Dunno Fat Man, I thought Martin was pretty funny here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFWA1A9XFi8

Uh.....no.

Steve Martin and Chevy Chase, in common with "that smirking ass" David Letterman and Bill Murray, exemplify the "ironic" school of hip from the late '70s; e.g. "Isn't it ironic that I'm too cool to be funny?"

No. And no.

"I'm Chevy Chase and you're not."

"Hey, that's not bad for 1975! What else ya got? Oh, that's pretty much it, huh?"

Where the hell is Bill Murray?

Oh shit... of course, he was actually funny.

I miss Bob Hope.

COMEDY IS NOT PRETTY

Margaret Cho could have been cute if she'd stayed home and kept her G.D. yap shut.

Wherever Carlin is, swapping jokes with St. Peter, or going on a riff at Satan's expense, I'm sure he's laughing his ass off at this crew. Once Williams got on meds, it was over for him. And outside of the "Vacation" series, I have a hard time recalling anything ChCh did. The other two are who again?

I couldn't believe how OLD those guys look. Then I happened to glance in a mirror.......
