Okay, my apologies. At first glance and not having watched the film I thought it was a future human construction rather than an advanced Martian one.

Plus major cuts in all other projects currently operation. Learn Mandrin Chinese or Russian if you want to go into space because we've chickened out. Remember this? "Well, we've done that already haven't we?"
There's a nice little lesson in Photoshop use there... ending with a nice little work of art. Wonderful imagination!
