Welcome Your New Overlords: The Hi-Tech Voice of the State Begins to Be Heard Across the Land

Coming to a city near you soon. Now we know what a lot of that stimulus money to the states was used for. As for the crowd, it seems to be mostly cameras but the demonstrators were about a block back at this point. So it seems to be all fun and games in the streets. Of course it always seems like fun and games until the tear gas and molotov cocktails come out.

Once upon a time I was in a street demonstration that was also sort of fun and games. Then the shotguns came out. Killed one man and blinded another. People left the street at high speed that day. The next day they came back. Then the Army arrived with helicopters dropping tear gas.

So it goes.

"By order of the Pittsburgh Chief of Police ... "

What the hell? Since when does the Chief of any Police have the power to declare anything about anybody. He is a law enforcement agent, period. Is this the modern equivalent of reading the riot act? What is next? The Chief of Police declares martial law?

Those hooligans should stop... umm... standing around and talking in angry tones!!!

btw.... isn't it now illegal to video-tape the police in certain parts of the country?

I believe this was during the G20 meetings being held in Pittsburgh in 2009. There was rioting at the University of Pittsburgh. Here is a more graphic demo:

That sounds like a disclaimer of liability to me. It stopped being about protecting citizens a long time ago because of law suits and the almighty race card. They have to treat every person, every driver, every assembly the same. Like the TSA. It's frigtening. I was pulled over for an outdated inspection sticker.. and the officer approached my door as if I were a potential criminal.. and I was driving a MINI VAN at the time. My kids were in the car. I felt kind of sorry for him. I felt more sorry for myself. And I felt most sorry for my kids. Because regardless of which side you're on in this scenario, it's only going to get worse in the future.

If it had only concluded with a rousing "Exterminate! Exterminate!"

...or "I am the Law!"

"This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube's policy prohibiting hate speech"

It must have been good.
