Trump the Closer: Last Ad Standing

Here’s what makes this ad so special:

1. Trump delivers his lines perfectly, like an experienced actor. We haven’t heard him like this before. You probably didn’t think he had this in him. He stays calm and assured, but not cocky. That is an effective counter-framing to Clinton’s framing of Trump as an unpredictable madman. Here Trump comes off as perfectly reasonable and deeply empathetic.

2. The timing is perfect. This race went so low that even the trolls were starting to gasp for oxygen. Trump made us wait for relief – Hollywood style. He made us crave civility and sanity. And just when we thought it was out of reach, he goes ultra-positive.

But here’s the best part. Clinton has no good options to counter this message. If she stays dark, Trump finishes as the inspirational one. If she tries to match his positive message, she has little chance of doing it this well...... More at | Scott Adams' Blog

That's pretty good ad.

Too bad he didn't start out this way. He'd be up by 10 and looking at a landslide.

Not a word about Obamacare? That alone should be his most winning issue, and he dropped that ball.

Pretty weak also from the standpoint of taking the optimistic view of the possibilities should he be elected. Effectively the pitch is that things are terrible, other are to blame for it being terrible. Usually Americans vote for the most optimistic vision of the future, maybe this year is different and the voters are scared enough to break that pattern. Just saying let's make America great again may be enough, but it would be stronger with just a little reinforcement.

Nothing to do now but wait until Wednesday morning to see how it all shakes out.

@Ed, it ain't about Trump, it's about kriminal-klintin, and keeping her out.

anti-kriminal-klintinites would vote for a dog catcher over her.

I liked it very much, but my opinion and a dime won't get anyone a cup of coffee.

I never paid much attention to Trump, but I am impressed by him now. The entire Establishment has gone after him like no one else I've ever seen, including Nixon. Yet he is still standing, and may yet win. Win or lose, to my mind he is a hero.
