You know, it really is a crying shame; you write up a term paper or a business paper and use some footnotes back to your 200 pounds of hardcover "legacy" encyclopedia, you can get an A plus plus plus plus just like that in that kid's dream in Christmas Story. Where are the people of color?

Anyone who has done any writing or editing on Wikipedia knows how their thought processes work. They have an agenda and a way they want things worded, and will rewrite you to fit that or reject your efforts if they conflict.

I've known a lot of cheeto-stained miserables like this in the past, they're all absolutely certain of their correctness and utterly contemptuous of anyone who disagrees.

By all means shoot the devious, duplicitous and treacherous messengers at Wikileaks, but the messages they have exposed can be used to advantage if properly heeded, as Melanie exhorts in her excellent piece. I recommend her recent books for those who are unfamiliar with her sterling work.
