Lives White People Like

You know, if men were sane the only reaction they would have when approached by a woman with marriage on her mind would be......

FLEE!

But of course that would be futile when a woman like this has you in her sights:

A Henry County judge fined a Palos Park teen $2,000 Thursday for driving at least 55 mph over the speed limit in January.

Gianna Didiana, 17, was extremely upset when Judge Dana McReynolds imposed the fine, according to Henry County Assistant State's Attorney Lewis Zimmerman.

Ms. Didiana also was sentenced to six hours in jail and ordered to perform 240 hours of community service.

Mr. Zimmerman said an Illinois State Police trooper was coming off the Geneseo exit onto Interstate 80 eastbound on Jan. 21 when Ms. Didiana drove past the state trooper in a Mercedes Benz at a high rate of speed.

The ticket was for going 120 mph, but Mr. Zimmerman said that was the speed the trooper clocked Ms. Didiana at as she was pulling away from him.

The trooper chased her and eventually stopped her in Bureau County, Mr. Zimmerman said. "She was crying (at the hearing). She was very emotional. It's the biggest fine I've ever seen. It's the fastest I've seen."

I don't know what model they're talking about here, but used to own a Benz S-430, and you could easily get up to 90-95 without even realizing it, because you had no sensation of speed. Although I'd been a licensed driver for over 30 years at that point, if I didn't pay close attention to the speedometer, I'd be in reckless driving territory very quickly (I lived in a state with a 65mph limit). I'd hate to see a 17-year-old behind the wheel of my car. No experience, no appreciation of mortality, and a willing-and-able vehicle make for a potentially lethal combination. Once mommy and daddy finish paying off little Buffy's fine, maybe they should look into a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, if they think she still needs a car. With the low-end engine. An autobahn bomber like a Benz is too much car in the hands of an inexperienced driver like that. The only good thing is that it would stand a good chance of keeping her alive if she crashed it.
