Probably better than he likes your crappy poetry, Cummings.

Would it kill conservatives to avoid posting photos of John Wayne, an actor, no more, who did not fight, in favour of a few pics of Audie Murphy?

What did John Wayne ever actually do?

Brought us to our feet cheering? Taught us lessons in virtue? Made us laugh? Personified America to the world?

The man was not the characters he portrayed, but those characters to whom he was able to give life are part of our great American mythos and our identity. Ringo, Tom Dunson, Sean Thornton, Ethan Edwards, Tom Doniphon, John T. Chance, J.B. Books, and -- possibly my favorite now that I am an old man, Wil Andersen. What did he ever do?

Audie Murphy was a hero, was honored for his incredible courage during his life, and remembered for it by many today. God made him a Texan. What more would he want?
