A Choice Not An Echo

I'd say "Discuss," but there's really not much left to say.

Didn't someone do the same thing a few years ago - juxtaposing The One with McCain at 22?

Same result, I guess.

I like the one with Bibi Netanyahu and Barry, too.

There should be a series, but there are so few to choose from.

Perry, McCain, Netanyahu, they've all done something in their lives.

Strange that the least accomplished of the three is President of the United States of America.

HTF did that happen?

Women really need to start voting with something other than bleeding hearts.. haha.. no contest here! One is a man, the other is a pseudo-man. I feel sorry for the women who can't tell the difference.

Since we went "All-Vol", the distance between those who serve, and those who ride for free has grown. A lot of peckerheads in this country will identify with a dope smoking poseur over the fighter pilot. They know dope smoking poseurs.

One thing that used to really piss me off when GWB was attacked over his military service, was fact that he was a fighter pilot. He flew F-102s, a Century series fighter. Anyone who read The Right Stuff remembers those boys had balls of iron.
Not to take anything away from Rick Perry, but he only went on to fly C-130s.

I see that both men spent their early 20s flying high.

One has cojones, one doesn't.

Well Stephen B., those of us out at the pointy end of the stick, were always glad to see the Herky Bird. Whether it had mail or mortar rounds, we were glad to see it.

Posted by: Peccable at August 27, 2011 11:59 AM

Peccable: like I said, not to take anything away from Rick Perry, but if he had been offered a fighter, I bet he would have taken it over the mighty Herk. As an aside, I have more takeoffs than landings aboard C-130s, as perhaps you do too.

The B-HO looks like the kind of college dorm dealer who'd short you five grams on an ounce, then ask for a pinch.

"Women really need to start voting with something other than bleeding hearts.. "

... or "bodice-ripper" romance-novel fantasies...

(Because let's be honest here: some women were "having the hots" for The One... I'm glad I knew a con man when I saw him.)

Posted by: newton at August 27, 2011 2:00 PM

Hey, what's wrong with bodice-ripper romance-novel fantasies? haha. I don't see anything attractive about The One. Not one thing. He's light-footed. There is Cary Grant light and there is Barack Obama light - there is a difference. Then there is Bill Clinton. Liberal men all have an ick factor and it usually has EVERYTHING to do with how they were raised.

The media delivered their 15 points and basically disenfranchised 65% of the country with their hype.
It will happen again unless a lot of people wake up. We are now a "Mediaocracy" rather than a Republic - sorry Ben....

stephen b -

Ever see a C-130 make a short, soft field take-off using JDAMs? I have. Balls of steel to do that one. And if Perry was qual'ed in the Herc .... well....

We used to punk out the ones like 'Barry'. He would last about 2 minutes in my old stomping grounds.

Posted by: Robohobo at August 27, 2011 9:34 PM

Perry flew a fighter.
Obama flew a bomber.

Balls of steel, indeed. The term you're looking for, Robo, is JATO (jet-assisted takeoff, i.e., a rocket booster pod). They are impressive. I've seen the Blue Angels' support C-130 climb almost vertically under JATO assist.

A JDAM is a made by attaching a GPS guidance kit to an iron bomb, and would blow a C-130 to kingdom come.

I (and forty of my buddies) left lunch in a Marine Herc that was fine tuning its new fangled knap-of-the-earth terrain avoidance technology.

Almost made it but lookingdown at the bushes, up at canyon
ridges, then seeing the sun shoot by in two or three directions cost
us all (eventually) our chicken ala king.
