When those kids get home, and their parents ask what the man said, they will respond "I dunno." And the entire exercise will be for naught, except to make kids remember how boring and annoying politicians are. Which I guess is a net positive.

There was a time when adults tried to shield children from the seamier side of life. Now we beam the seamier side directly into children's homes on TV at all hours of the day instead of reserving those shows to the night hours when kids are safely asleep in their beds. Many say that the days when kids were protected were the "bad old days" but I am not so sure.

Ummmm.....whiskey tango? Why would anyone approach little school children with anything more advanced than "Hello, I am a US Congressman, and this is what I do." Add lots of pictures of the US Capitol and bask in the light with a bunch of little kids who are so happy that the spelling test was put over for a day.

Little children are very impressed with things - but they have to be the things that are in their world. Searching for 'pillbugs' in the shrubbery, sitting up-side-down on the couch - those sort of things. Health care? For a nine year old that means either a band-aid or a tetanus shot. Or in other words - things that you got to do because adults say so, but not interesting at all.

Don't any of these adults remember being a little kid and how inexplicable and wonderful the mundane is?*

As a parent I would have been angry.

If I'm the parent of that child (and no one at the school informed me of a political talk beforehand) I would have gone to the school. I'd tell them as a parent I have a right to know what type of speakers, or activities outside of the norm the school has planned for my kid. I have every right to pull my kid out of class should I oppose the speaker. AND if I had known I would have.
A notice usually comes home in advance anyway--if it doesn't I would complain to the school. Really complain (but don't be a shrew). Be firm. Many schools think they know more than a parent. Don't let the school assume this. This emboldens them to more arrogance.

Sorry to say, these earnest adults are boring. They were boring 40 years ago when I learned we would have no gasoline or trees when I became twenty and you know what - they were wrong.

So why should I believe that any of these kids will come out different from me? Why should they hear the dire predictions of doom and when the doom does not arrive say that they were lied to? I heard doom and when it didn't happen my thought was that I was lied to.

No offense meant - that was written in the deepest sympathy; because if we are doomed - DOOMED - then cutting out early would be wise.

Because you lived in a world where there were other messages to be heard, that's why. chasmatic's citation of the Socialist creed of "reach 'em young" is absolutely apt as a characterization of what's going on in public schools today - and the rest of the culture is being fed to them on television, and what's on that? As for "Where is Adolph today?," the better question would be "And what happened to the children the Nazis propagandized?" Does the term "Hitler Youth" ring a bell?

This is going on without being questioned anywhere the lefties think they can get away with it. The day this was posted I was treated to a 4-hour harangue in the name of "Environmentalism" which was being shouted (and that's the only word) at a group of confused kids about the age of the ones in this video, at a gathering in the local Luther Burbank Farm.

I live about 75 yards away, and it sounded exactly like a Nazi rally, punctuated at long intervals with little kids cheering on cue as it was demanded of them. Just fucking chilling.

There's a whole lot in life I don't give a flyin' fuck about, but I am pretty well centered in my own spirituality and the older I get I allow that there's probably about 23 different ways to get into Heaven. And besides, as I get older, I pay more attention to the evidence and less to the arguments.
