Want to create a gun-free America in 5 easy steps? Here’s all there is to it:

From Reason Magazine viaAll Good Men

Step 1: Elect. For a gun-free America, the first thing you’ll need is two-thirds of Congress. So elect a minimum of 67 Senators and 290 Representatives who are on your side.

Step 2: Propose. Then, have them vote to propose an amendment to the Constitution which repeals Second Amendment gun rights for all Americans.

Step 3: Ratify. Then convince the legislators of 38 states to ratify that change.

At this point, the Second Amendment is history, but you’ve done nothing to decrease gun violence. All you’ve done is remove the barrier for Congress to act.

Step 4: Legislate. You need to enact “common sense” reform.

You can try to do what Australia did and…ban all guns? That’s not at all what they did, but whatever, fuck it. Go big or go home, right?

It will have to be passed by Congress and signed by the president.

Great! The law is passed and guns are now illegal. The only thing left to do is…

Step 5: Enforce. Guns won’t just disappear because you passed a law. You need to confiscate some 350 million guns scattered among 330 Million Americans.

Sure, you can try a buy-back program like Australia, but like Australia that will still leave behind anywhere from 60 percent to 80 percent of privately owned firearms.

The rest you have to take.

You’ll need the police, the FBI, the ATF or the National Guard—all known for their nuanced approach to potentially dangerous situations—to go door-to-door, through 3.8 million square miles of this country and take guns, by force, from thousands, if not, millions of well-armed individuals. Many of whom would rather start a civil war than acquiesce.

So inevitably gun violence, which is currently at a historic low, will skyrocket.

But that is how you get a gun-free America in five easy steps.

The "Gnome Underpants Logic" is strong with this one.

I remember taking Sales classes for Door to door sales years ago and I must say, when it comes to 'closing', something 'magical' must happen if they take their own hand, place it in their back pocket, pull out their wallet, and put the money in my hand (yea... closing was not a strong suit of mine...)

Same algorithm goes with people handing over their guns - except for the fact that the worst money can do is give you a nasty paper cut and a gun... well... "Gnome Underpants Logic"...

Reason. Sigh, so naive. The allied Five Estates (Exc,Leg,Jud,Press,GovEmployees) do not want any longer to work within Constitutional processes. They want the thrice-damned and doubly-despised Constitution to be utterly broken. And what is a better demonstration that the Constitution is now a quaint historical document without force, than to show that the "right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed", that the right is fully infringed and the people have acquiesced.

The 2A is the rock on which the Constitution rests. That rock is also the fulcrum on which to break the Constitution.

Those b******* are committed to civil war. They long for it, pray for it, it haunts their fevered dreams. They believe, with the corruption of the US Military well underway, and the spawning of armed security forces squirreled away in every Federal agency, that when the rebellion starts, they will be able to prevail against the great mass of Americans. A few rebellious towns swiftly broken into beautiful omelettes through the overwhelming use of Federal force, and the nation will be theirs, and the people will be their b****es.

Yah, that's what the chinless Assad thought also. But we don't have a sugar daddy like Assad has Putin. It's in those other guys interest to see us devastated in a stalemated civil war.

As luck would have it, the UPS man dropped off my brand spankin new Dillon reloader today.

Anyway, my natural rights are not dependent upon the acceptance of others.

I'll own what I want and nobody else has any say about it.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

They'll have to pry my $900 Amazon flamethrower out of my cold dead fingers before they can take my guns.
