MOST people, the Entertainment Tonight crowd, think politics is just the worlds biggest and most complicated family fued. It's impossible to figure out who or what actually started this fight, so they don't even try. If these people have any interest in something besides what is the real color of a dress, they will turn to someone they know and ask them to bring them up to date on the matter, or mostly they just use their social skills to try and get a feeling. It doesn't matter if one side is promising free gold coins produced from unicorn farts and the other is saying there are no unicorns, these people will decide we should only get SOME free gold coins and not worry how many unicorns there are.

Like every topic, these people think it is someone else's job to give them the info they need to make decisions. If they don't have that info about things it's not their fault. This country will not survive. No catastrophe will make these Entertainment Tonight people become serious. They will simply follow whichever con-man promises them the most stuff for free. They will support every failed policy, especially the ones tried endlessly for the last century. Because the ET people don't know doing X always leads to Y, they will say we should try X and MAYBE it will work. This also explains why no matter how many times the GOP tries to run the same losing candidates, those losing candidates will be the presumptive candidate for the next race. You cannot outsource citizenship. Being busy isn't an excuse. There is nobody assigned to do the job for you or me. WE are the highest official in the govt. We simply choose to not act, ever.

I agree that anyone who takes Snopes at their word is naive and credulous. If you read what they wrote in the link, they're really not denying anything. They just say they couldn't find the quote.

How convenient, eh? If Snopes was unbiased, I might give some credence to their opinion. But they are so deep in the tank for Dems that I trust their word about as much as I trust Hillary's.

It doesn't really matter if Snopes is left or right. If there is no reputable source, it probably didn't happen.
