Trump to Assad: "You had five airbases. Now you have four. Would you like to try for three?"

Mark Steyn Has Excellent Analysis on Trump’s Syria Action…

"Idiot MSM pundits like Jake Tapper, though it’s not exclusive to Tapper, keep pointing out the 2013 tweet by President Trump warning Obama about action in Syria and framing their narrative about “what changed?” etc.

Just for clarity. Between the 2013 tweet by non candidate Trump and the 2017 action by President Trump, there was a 2014 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) voted and approved by congress permitting military action in Syria against the backdrop of chemical weapon use and terrorism. I swear sometimes the MSM are flippin’ idiots, then I remind myself of the David Mamet principle: 'In order for left-wing ideologues to keep espousing their cognitively disconnected talking points they need to pretend they don’t know things.'

The linked post's author, "Sundance," is Constitutionally illiterate and historically uninformed. He writes, "... there was a 2014 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) voted and approved by Senate committee permitting military action in Syria against the backdrop of chemical weapon use and terrorism."

Which means exactly zip, nada, zilch. The US Constitution requires the entire Congress, not just a Senate committee to declare or authorize military force. The Senate bill to which Sundance links was actually in 2013, not 2014 (S.J. Res. 21, 113th Congress). The bill never made it out of House committee and never received a floor vote at all in either chamber. On Sept. 10, 2013, it died completely when SecState Kerry struck the now-infamous deal with the Russians that they would take possession of all Syria's chemical weapons.

My own assessment is here: "Trump just went to war with Syria."

What’s the big deal? It’s just one more in an endless series of American war crimes by the world’s leading terrorist State.
