"The liberals are taking a HUGE gamble that a majority of Americans will throw in their lot with the party of immorality."

A huge gamble? I don't think so. Liberals may be taking a very substantial risk with their current positions on economic issues, but I suspect they have their hands firmly on the pulse of Americans' moral logic.

I would actually expect a majority of Americans, when presented with this comparison, to entirely agree with the side of the argument exonerating the liberal "offender."

We think the comparison starkly shows the moral degradation of the liberal position. But, I think the average American would look at the comparison and think: "The conservative is guilty of an additional 'sin,' and guilty by his very own judgment. Boy, I hate hypocrites!"

I thought it was because the left was the natural home of the boorish oaf.

Immorality? Bonus points. Theirs is a constituency which likes to be reassured that their politicians can be looked down upon. In their minds, that makes the politician accessible. He is.

My old Granddaddy always told me, "There's only been one man who was without sin. But there was never a man who wasn't better off for trying to emulate Him."

Aim high, it makes all the difference.

The elevation of the Left's nose is the height of their Revered Leader's unwiped anus.

The people that ignore 40-100 million dead bodies at the hands of the Marxist Cosmopolitans during the last century will not let some simple logical point prevent them from their arguments.

The Y2K hysterics didn't change their mind after the non-collapse after Y2K. The recent Rapture fans haven't changed their mind, they just "discovered" a more nuanced understanding of the truth. The Obama voters, even the disappointed ones, don't think they did anything wrong. They think they were tricked. It's a religion and it's true no matter what foolsihness bust be adopted to make it true or how long they have to wait for vidication.
