All Aboard! : Wake Up, Smell the Trumpening, Quit Yer Bitching, and Put on Your Big Boy Pants, Punks

[A long comment that is crude, rude, and chock full of truthiness.... ]

By any measure, Trump is the best Republican candidate since Reagan. Bush I coasted on Ronnie. Dubya got a split decision by judicial fiat, and barely managed to put away JOHN KERRY in 04 with a point here or there.

Trump is already ahead of Romney. He's polling closer in blue states - heck, Washington is just about in play. NJ too. Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, PA-when were these last in the game? He's even holding steady with Romney's numbers in California. Even New Mexico will come down to how Johnson's 24% collapses Nov 8th.

I have not a word of criticism. Every scandal faded when he ignored it. The entire media elite on both sides has only held him to a tight race with a near certain win (many paths to victory!) and a potential electoral landslide. His gaffes arent not a bit worse than anyone else.

Be as alpha as you like. Be as silver tongued and fearless as you like. Any of us-anyone else- would have long since broken. Its been a year and a half and every day from every side, Trump has been under unremitting, vicious, downright depraved attack.

I mean- we forget, you know? Not to get mushy...no, f**k it. Lets get mushy. Lets get real.

Theres no reason in HELL to do this. For all the shitlib conspiracy theories, he has the favors, the connections to get out of any supposed debt or legal tangle. Hes been good friends with the Clintons, the Bushes, the Kennedys, a dozen others.

His name, his family, his company, his legacy, his health, his pride, his history; his life - - both his social and literal life-all of it thrown on the altar. Not to mewl cuck BS but because he loves this rotten shell of failing dreams. He loves the country that gave his family everything, and he has pledged his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor to fight for her in terrible peril.

Damn us all. Damn us all to hell. A year and a half ago every cockswinging deplorable was jerking off to Teddy Cruz and glumly ready to suck it up and vote Jeb. So we could get our amnesty with a side of guac before we ran to some f**king hideyhole. So we could huddle down and "enjoy the decline." Maybe catch a piece or two of bluehaired vagina while the Romes our fathers built - -not just one, but a dozen Romes from coast to coast - - rotted and burned.

Criticize? Comment? The unlimited hubris of it. We were WHIPPED, gang. We joked about road wars to whistle past the f**king graveyard because we knew it'd never be that good. Just slow rot and shitty jobs until we died, getting older and weaker and fewer while an endless horde. twerked in the ruins of our grandeur.

70 years old. Taking 15 months of endless hate to take a chance at 8 years more.

The more I think of it, the more it moves me. I didn't think we got men like this anymore. Laugh if you like. I dont give a damn. Donald Trump turned his back on endless, unlimited fame, wealth, hedonism, luxury and peace. Cincinnatus left a plow, not a throne.

I commented something along similar lines recently at the Remnant, a Roman Catholic site, after they gave him the same half-hearted endorsement that seems to be so popular these days:

"I'd like to see a little less condescension and a little more respect for Donald Trump---from you and every other Christian who continues to damn him with faint praise. You speak as though the morality of his political positions was an accident, and incidental to who he is as a man. Have you considered the possibility that, despite being successful and wealthy, he is also idealistic and courageous? That he might just feel that he has an obligation to help his fellow countrymen? That he's putting himself through this unnecessary torment in order to assure a better world for his beloved children and grandchildren? To my mind, that has to be his main motivation---that, and God's grace.

What could motivate an otherwise sane, comfortable and successful man to pit himself against a vicious, corrupt and deeply-entrenched political elite instead of enjoying the many blessings of his later life? Let someone else do it. Instead, he sees that the ship of American civilization is sinking, and he jumps in to help. His enemies accuse him of not making sacrifices. Sacrifice comes in many forms. If this isn't sacrifice, I don't know what is.

Do you realize that Mr. Trump is running at considerable personal risk to himself, including risk to his life, his family, his property, and his reputation? He has everything to lose and nothing to gain by becoming president---only a world of endless effort, lies and pain. Ann Barnhardt is right: you have to be nuts to run for office in the US these days.

There is not one single man, much less, politician, you can name who could withstand the onslaught of hatred and vilification he has had to endure at the hands of the devil's slaves. An ordinary man would have collapsed long ago under the weight of this evil. And yet we take it for granted that he will bat 1000 for us every day and persist in being more energetic and more courageous than we could ever, in a million years, be. And we criticize him for the imperfection of his Christianity; and we are not grateful enough that he is fighting on our behalf.

I can't help noticing the ironic juxtaposition of the roles of Pope Francis and Mr Trump: outwardly, Pope Francis would appear to be gold, but he is base metal; Outwardly, Donald Trump would appear to be base metal, but he is gold. He deserves our respect.

Truly, God is wise in his foolishness."

If I have learned anything in the last 55 years it is this.. Do not put your hope in man..

That said, I think Donald Trump is probably the last great hope of this age..

He brings to mind other great men of history who themselves were deeply flawed but carried the burden like none of their contemporaries could..

Men like Winston Churchill, Teddy Roosevelt, Marcus Aurelius... Donald Trump??? maybe.. if not him .. who?

Gerard, while I like the sentiment expressed in your cited excerpt, I have a habit of looking at original sources.


The website from which you acquired that post has several thread headings that can only be characterized as anti-semitic.


I get the "I don't give a F*** about being called "racist" anymore", but are intelligent people seriously trying to go towards hatred of Jews and blatant racism?


That strikes me as just wrong, and wrong headed. Can we not support the principles underpinning Western Civilization and not go off into the weeds of racism?

I look for things that have a point and talk to the issues that interest me. I do not, in general, scroll around a site to see if it is full of acceptable attitudes.

When I find these items it is usually via email or some other tip.


Personally, I'm not at all anti-semitic. For confirmation you can speak to my first wife or my daughter. Or any number of others.

At the same time, I'm not in this instance interested in running a purity test on sources. Not at this time.

Besides, you need to read my essay from years ago....

I think the comment makes good points about the patriotic impulse. Trump loves America and Americans. Hillary doesn't. That's the major difference in their "qualifications for office" as I see it.

I noted that the original post did require some . . . editing. You have:

But the original reads:

You took out the reference to the "muds." I agree that change improves the message . . .

We may not be able to approve of everything believed or said by some of those who stand with us on the ramparts of Western Civiliation. We don't have to. Remember that during the "Continuation War," Jewish Finnish soldiers fought side by side with elements of the Waffen SS against the Red Army. I live in south King county, WA. People in King county are so blue, it's like living in Smurfsville. Drove across WA on I90 recently; noticed 4 Trump/Pence signs but no Hillary signs. There's a large Trump/Pence sign and a small Gary Johnson sign on my way to some trails but I've yet to see any Hillary signs. It would be great if Trump would schedule a rally, maybe at the Puyallup fair grounds.
