Isn't it strange

that at the very moment in history when China is struggling to awaken from its long nightmare the government of the United States is trying to drag this nation down into that same nightmare?

The government of the US is not trying to pull the people down into the fascism of Obama, Reid, & Pelosi, it is the Democrats, who for 220 years have always sought to be masters over other human beings who would be their slaves. May they rot in Hell.

I watched a Cheetah stalk two gazelles locking horns in rutting season and then begin it's sprint, but the gazelles do not even notice. The Cheetah pulls up, not understanding what to do. This is not how it is ever done.

The Chinese were first puzzled, then astonished, and now are concerned. They do not automatically assume the American weakness is going to be good for them.

Gerard, you reminded me of these lines...

Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground
You in mid air.
Send in the clowns.

um ... yin and yang ... trading places ... the grass is always greener ... envy ... success breeds failure and (learning from) failure breeds success ...

i.e. It doesn't seem that strange. Regrettable as the learning curve back to success is going to be hell; but not strange.

Is it not passing strange that it was China, in Copenhagen, which fought for the American Way?

It is strange and far beyond passing strange. It may be that, if the US goes under, the only place to flee will be China.

No. That can't be right.

China cannot escape itself. Wish it could. It will burn brightly for about as long as Japan did, and burn out quicker.

The great Calvin Coolidge saw things clearly--there is no greater service that we can render the oppressed of the world than to maintain inviolate the freedom of our own citizens.

When he left office government was 3% of GDP.
