Conservatives, Sharpen Your Shank and Shove It In [Bumped]

sniperknife2.jpg

ScottM notes in a comment to: Humiliation was, in fact, their only aim, and malice, their motive.

"This is the point of commie-lib politics. They will use their power to take your power. The commie-libs make demands, not because of the facts and the "progress" toward their utopia, but because if you do what they want you will be weaker and vulnerable to the next demand. Yet, the guileless Conservatives debate the merits of the details of the commie-lib demand, or they'll point out this latest demand is inconsistent with some past demand. The details and the consistency matter only to the Conservatives, yet that is what they spend 98% of their energy discussing. You might as well tell the con-men running the Three Card Monte you've detected the card switch or that taking someone's money isn't nice.

"When you debate the details with a commie-lib you are putting the "kick me" sign on your chest and back. You are signalling you still haven't cought on and you are still an easy target. Just because you prefer to discuss the details and the rules and the underlying principle doesn't mean that's effective. It's only when you recognize the commie-libs are engaged in a naked power grab and this fight is about power, not the details of their latest charge, can you effectively resist their tactic.

"Stop being willfully naive and be an effective soldier for your views. Stop rushing to talk radio so the conservative host can try and convince you not to raise taxes in a recession, not interfere in children's lunches, not break up families, not advance the goals of America's enemies. I know this is lost on most Conservatives because the world around the one characteristic of the Conservatives is a determined avoidance of conflict with the liberals. Better to discuss what the commie-libs are doing than to risk a fight with the commie-libs. It's Conservatives students and employees that hide their views in school or at work. You can't win while on defense. Commie-lilbs are always on offense, that's why they control so much. If our tactic was working we would run their institutions, we don't.

"You can return to Mayberry Rules when we win the fight. Right now we must play by Prison Rules, or lose."

Stealth and scopes.

I think, Timmy, that it may well come to that, anyway. Has there ever been a commie revolution without killing off a lot of the opposition? They've been content to let us silence ourselves for fear of giving offense. I say, let's be offensive. When using the race card quits working, they will find some other brush to tar us with.
We need to stop supplying the feathers. Oh, wait, was that racist of me? Heh.

"Has there ever been a commie revolution without killing off a lot of the opposition?"

That is why liberals love Bill Ayers: He dreamed of killing up to a quarter of American citizens in the gulags he wanted to create.

Posted by: pst314 at February 16, 2012 6:54 PM

There's a word for intellectually honest liberal: conservative.

Posted by: Gagdad Bob at February 16, 2012 8:33 PM

Thanks for the notice Gerard.

If 5 commie-libs hear the wrong tree is in danger of being cut down they organize sit-ins, media campaigns, and they speak about murder of Mother Earth.

If 5 Conservatives learn they'll be strip searched at the airport, they tell other Conservatives it's wrong to strip search old ladies and little kids, and then they go about their day.

Where are the flashmobs of Conservatives? The reason the TEA Party was notable was because for the last few decades, while liberty after liberty was torched, Conservatives did little or nothing. Conservatives won't even jettison their commie-lib friends, movies, or media. If you are sending your time and money to the commie-lib indoctrination complex you are aiding and abetting the enemy. Never do you hear 2 liberals making an exception for the one Conservative they know, yet Conservatives always make room for their aspiring overlord commie-lib friend or neighbor. I don't know if it's Stockholm Syndrome or just a determination to play nice, even when that is used against all of the rest of us.

We need not jump to rivers of blood, how about getting in an argument, wherever you are, and whether or not you have back-up.

I agree with this post and find it very refreshing. I have started taking the offense in conversations more and more often.

The other day a leftist friend of mine asked, to be friendly, if I favored any of the candidates. I said no, they're all highly flawed, but you can understand our side by looking at the Republican primary as a conversation we are having amongst ourselves, trying to work out our priorities, and it helps if you understand that the establishment party politicians weren't prepared for the teapartiers and didn't embrace us fast enough, but it will all work out in the end, most likely, because we are right and are focused on educating the public about what matters, and working hard to win local races and re-take the Senate, and once you folks understand what we are talking about you will want to remake the Democrat party, too, because it really does matter that we have a free market, individual liberty, and fiscal responsibility.

And my friend said she had never heard about any of that. This was the first time she even knew that there ARE teaparty principles, much less had them explained.

In the past I would have said something polite.

But in the past she wouldn't have asked me.

Even some of the leftists are starting to wonder and worry. This is good.

Face it, guys, conservatives have been effectively castrated for years. Your wife cancels out your vote because she wants free stuff from the government.

Posted by: Gary at February 17, 2012 8:46 AM

Two points that conservatives need to make ... repeatedly.

Comcast is an owner of MSNBC. If even a small percent of their cable customers switched to DirecTV because they don't like bankrolling left-wingers it would get the attention of Comcast's directors. The ownership is never mentioned.

Saint Warren Buffett owns the sleazy Kirby Vacuum company which sells -- door-to-door -- overpriced ($1 thou and up) vacuums to lower middle class suckers. Google Kirby to get an idea of its tactics and remember that because unlike most CEOs he owns a large chunk of the company, he personally benefits every time a sales team sells another piece of junk.

Posted by: JamesG at February 17, 2012 10:14 AM

Been trying to make this point for years.

It's the CONSERVATIVES who don't want to hear it, let alone acknowledge and act on the reality.

That reality is that we live in a Matrix-like fantasy where we keep on addressing the commie-libs' ideas and proposals as if they deserved a reasoned response... despite the fact that their ideas and proposals ARE NOT FOUNDED IN REASON but, rather, an irrational, adolescent, short-sighted obsession with "fairness".

As long as those who really ought to know better keep repeating this self-destructive pattern, allowing moral adolescents to run society's most critical institutions, we will continue to watch Western Civilization flush itself down the toilet.

But... as my Uncle Salvatore used to say, "I talk to the wall...".

Posted by: B Woodman at February 17, 2012 8:39 PM

While the commie-libs are waging what is currently a mostly non-violent Civil War, I'm not suggesting we sit on our cans and prep for shooting and shoveling. I'm asking passive Conservatives to stop retreating to their cocoons of liberal-free areas and talking among themselves.

We can't save this country by doing nothing now and then waging war at some magic moment. Argue with liberals everywhere right now. Until all liberals on the fringes of Conservative areas meet resistance at every contact, the commie-libs will keep gaining ground.

I'm begging for a change in tactics so we don't have to wait for a real civil war. I'm asking the undercover Conservatives to show yourself and act like the majority and stop being so GD passive and imagining some magic moment will happen and we'll reverse everything at once. That's a fantasy that helps the commie-libs win.

Posted by: Scott M at February 18, 2012 2:44 AM

Well, I took your advice, Scott. I got called a troll.

So I thought about that for a while. I've decided that we've been "trolled" by the MSM for about the last half century and we somehow have yet to find the temerity to troll the truth where it's needed most. The Left can call me names while I urge them to think for themselves, but at some point, they just need to be prodded like the cattle they are.

Posted by: Joan of Argghh at February 18, 2012 8:06 AM

I am surrounded by leftists. I have a brother-in-law who is a scout leader. He openly admits being ashamed of the embarrassing patriotism of the Boy Scouts. He is a church goer who supports the Palestinians' "struggle" against Israeli occupation and oppression. He believes that poor minorities are poor because of white racism. He and his wife had their Kerry for president lawn sign up for a full year after GWB won the election. He is typical of many of the people I know.

The problem is that you Can. Not. Talk. to these people. Leftist doctrine is their religion. They believe what they believe with an evangelical fervor. Christianity itself is subsumed into their Marxist world view.

They believe- believe that the right wing is evil, that Republicans are the big money interests who don't care about the little guy, that the Democrat party supports the working man. I have tried to engage some of these folks at various times. You may as well try to convert the Pope to islam.

Posting again. Joan, I just hit the link you posted. Very depressing. This is what I was talking about- invincible ignorance.

Well, let's start with the cudgels of homophobia, racism and Islamophobia. If and when we get enough courage to not preface every argument we make with, "I don't want to sound intolerant (racist, homophobic, critical of the vast majority of peace-loving muslims)..." and state our case, and not care, we'd be half-way to manhood.

I registered at Democratic Underground a couple of years ago in order to respond to a comment that bothered me.

I was polite and cordial, and pointed out that the free market was more likely to lead to prosperity and happiness than the statist solution that was being proposed.

I was banned after two comments. My other comment simply consisted of commiserating with another commenter who had the same dental work done that I had had a week earlier.

Posted by: rickl at February 18, 2012 9:04 AM

My 9:04 am comment shouldn't dissuade anyone else from trying, though. If everyone went to places like that and made a comment or two, we might get some people thinking.

Personally, I'm not good at persuading people, so I've given up trying. And I don't tell anyone in meatspace about my preps.

Posted by: rickl at February 18, 2012 9:24 AM

Ah hell, who wants to convince anyone? I don't anymore. I just want to mock them. Let them suck the stupidity pipe.

Posted by: Jewel at February 18, 2012 9:29 AM

It's all so passive over there. I couldn't goad a single one of them to seek out a link and refute my assertion that it was a lie. Even the site admin lazily blamed his settings for hiding my comments. I remind him that it's his doing that sets the parameters. Which of course he cannot refute. Passively drinking from the MSM firehose.

But it is quite a challenge to find any real evidence of the real purpose of the committee, the real situation of the walkout (staged) and the reality that there were women (two doctors) scheduled to testify later in the hearings. Which of course, anybody who cared about it would have known. It was all a staged event. A pernicious lie.

I relented and gave them links.

I'm sure they'll hate the inconvenience of it all.

The greatest obstacle to the conservative understanding of our true political culture is the failure, and unwillingness, to see that America jumped the shark in 1933, not 2008. Leftoids see this just fine. Every President and every Congress since that time has been part of the new paradigm. The last constitutionally minded President was the much-maligned Silent Cal, who knew how to keep his mouth shut in six languages.

...The unity, the universality, the omnipotence of society’s power, and the uniformity of its rules represent the outstanding feature of all the political systems invented in our day. They recur at the heart of the strangest utopias. The human mind still pursues these images even in its dreams.
It is, above all, in the details that we risk enslaving men. Freedom in the big things of life is less important than in the slightest...
Alexander de Tocqueville

This is not something which can be taken back gradually. The truth is, socialism is the natural state of humans, so the fact that it does not work in advanced societies has to be learned by every new generation. When that process is broken, it is 1933, in Athens or Rome or Britian.

Posted by: james wilson at February 18, 2012 10:09 AM

The truth is, socialism is the natural state of humans

I cannot agree fully. It is the natural entropy of human interaction in groups that have outgrown their practical boundaries of viability and accountability. They start outsourcing responsibility in an innocent bid for practicality.

It's the power grab in the midst of the paradigm that tips the scale at the last.

Iowahawk The Great is once rumored to have stated "never stop laughing at the left." The wisdom behind this is also visible in Alinsky's "ridicule as man's most powerful/important weapon" philosophy.

This realm is where, among other areas, William F. Buckley Jr. exhibited startling, strong, and brighter-than-Einstein's-most-vivid-nuclear-reaction-dreams The Winning Playbook.

In doing more than his duty to help his generations' struggle for liberty, which Reagan warned every generation must prepare (and be prepared) to face, WFB showed the way.

A good, decent respect for the humanity of those with whom you disagree is important up to a point. After that point, fuck 'em. This past Christmas(!) I shouted at several socialists many things, including:

"American's pay $2.5 trillion a year in taxes and therefore America is the most heavily taxed country in the world!"

"America spends more, and in addition borrows more, than any other country in the history of the world!"

"You think America sucks because we neither spend nor borrow enough, and that makes you wrong! Your socialist time is over: The internet will destroy and has destroyed your bullshit lies. You can't fool everyone anymore. Your done. Your time is over. You lose!"

I've felt great about that night numerous times. The leftist talking points didn't affect me in the slightest. I made my points clearly, repetitiously due to no fault of my own, and loudly with a righteous anger.

Laughing in their face was the best part.

I was reading Demonic, today and Ann Coulter had a hilarious passage about liberals claiming that whatever conservatives say as being "code words", which is to say that everything we say is a code word for racism, homophobia, sexism, racism, homophobia, racism and Islamophobia and fascism. The liberals won't be satisfied until the whole dictionary is just 'code words'.

Joan:
I looked at the comment thread you linked. Nice little trick they have: "hidden due to low comment rating". It took me two or three clicks to get the comments to display. Each time.

Posted by: rickl at February 18, 2012 5:56 PM

I'm not urging undercover Conservatives try to change the minds of the commie-libs. As has thoroughly been observed they are beyond reason and logic. They must be defeated. I'm asking for a chnage in tactics not to win arguments but so that the other undercover Conservatives stop cowering and act like the majority. It also aids the "moderates & Independents" to see there is a logical and reality-based response to the emotional appeal of commie-lib half-thoughts.

Lastly, I'm asking all of us to beware of any tactic or agument or habit that has us doing nothing now but making some Olympian effort in the future. That's nothing but an excuse to do nothing. Stop waiting for some real outrage, we've had enough outrages in this year, and every year prior, to warrant a full-fledged response. But our Golden Retriever nature, which makes us awesome inside of Mayberry, makes us inept when Prison Rules are in effect.

The commie-libs took over by using the same few tricks everywhere, all of the time. We can use those same tricks to overwhelm them, but only if we stop waiting for a real provocation.

Where are the Conservative flash mobs? Would a USDA Inspector fear a response from us? No, that's why the soldiers of commie-libs keep poking us with a stick. The commie-libs know exactly what to do when they are afraid of their enemy, and we've given them every reason to know they have nothing to fear from Conservatives.

Waiting for an election, exaggerating the number of former Obama voters, and leaving the arguments to Talk Radio are all excuses to remain undercover. Our Constitution can't be defended from behind cover.

`First, Joan - I read your linked thread... Didn't know you had such masochistic tendencies!

NEVER argue with idiots - they'll just drag you to their level and beat you with experience!

Personally, I still pray He will open their minds so it doesn't become necessary to open their HEADS, but...

The more I see, the more convinced I am that we're in the home-stretch now. We NEED a war with Babylon, and TPTB are determined to bring us one... Then we can get on with the rest of the 7 seals and all they entail...

Won't stop ME from fighting with all I have, but... It seems to grow more obvious every day...

Posted by: Dedicated_Dad at February 18, 2012 7:39 PM

D-Dad, I'm a happy warrior. I'm more dispirited by the prevailing attitude here than ever I will be by ignorance. Fish don't know they're wet, but Conservatives, enlightened and blessed, won't deign to dirty their hands in the fight for truth.

I've heard it for years: don't wrestle with a pig, don't argue with idiots, don't waste your time, don't, don't, don't DO anything.

The GOP has never had a long game and modern "conservatism" is more about getting and keeping than it is about building and growing.

I argue with idiots because sometimes even smart people watch America's Funniest Videos or Housewives of NJ or whatever. I don't argue to convince the idiots, I defend Truth for the one or two who stumble into the den of madness just to see what the fuss is about.

The price of Freedom is vigilance. Vigilance is not a passive state of being.

Regarding the "Islamophobia" epithet often hurled at those who are not wannabe dhimmis: I don't know how many people already look at this site, but the site "Gates of Vienna" has started a campaign to use the term "Islamonausea" in its stead.

This must have the useful idiots rattled, because Wikipedia has deleted the page on this subject after complaints.

Posted by: Fletcher Christian at February 19, 2012 1:13 PM

I don't think that socialism is anything near the "natural state of humans".

Tribalism and brigandage are the terms you are looking for. The term "socialism" comes from and by the same people who brought you "undocumented immigrant" and "(fill in the blank) - American".

A functioning Republic demands a virtuous society. You lose that, eventually it becomes a bloody game of musical chairs. The music has stopped.

Profligacy, graft, ending in outright theft. All for the very best intentions. That's the progression of Socialism.

And then you run out of other people's money.

Posted by: TmjUtah at February 19, 2012 4:57 PM

Nicholas Sennels, blogging at Gates of Vienna and JihadWatch has suggested using the term "Islamonausea" instead of Islamophobia. To which I say, "Amen!" I would add, homonausea as well, since I'm sick of the lot of them.

Posted by: Jewel at February 19, 2012 6:31 PM

Only today I had a good conversation with a "semi-lib" friend. Mostly it was me talking but he was receptive because he's a smart guy and likes to know about the world.

One point that surprised him was when he mentioned "compromise" and "bridging the divide" and I just said Look, some situations are suited to compromise, others are not. Right now there is a big divide in the country over lots of things and many of these issues need to be duked out until only one side is standing. Flat out.

I've made this point with other friends and it seems to provoke thought. Since it is not about any issue in particular there is an increased likelihood that something will sink in.

There is always a way to shim some idea or question into any conversation. Direct confrontation is usually the worst approach. Get them wondering about how things are and what policies have been effective by their standards. Avoid the terms "Republican" and "Obama" at all costs, at least initially. These buttons will only prompt them to be hostile or shut down.

"I'm asking for a chnage in tactics not to win arguments but so that the other undercover Conservatives stop cowering and act like the majority." -- Scott M.

This is such an important point. Making these connections to rebuild conservatism one mind at a time is much more important than the effect of that same energy reaching liberals. And the commie-libs know that keeping us cowed via isolation, especially in the big cities, is key to maintaining their power.

Posted by: Hannon at February 19, 2012 8:00 PM

You will never bring those horses to the water. Stop trying - wasted effort. Rather, work doubly hard to find those in your 5 and 10 mile radius with whom you agree.

Confirm plans, confirm what you will do WHEN they "collapse" it all. You must have a plan because they do. Patiently executed across decades.

Get your kids out of the schools and ensure they know what to do.

Save your country by saving your kids, saving yourselves, and knowing what you will do. Because everything you think you know, think you will have, think will continue because it always has - won't.

God help us.
