The Summer of Our Discontent


Evidence that The Surge was working continued to mount.


Forcing some politicians to modify their previous positions.


The Democrats, faced with improving facts on the ground, decided to put their roll-out of "The Republican Ass-Kicking Machine" on hold.


Problems at the nation's summer schools made themselves known.


Unseasonable heat began to make itself felt in new and unexpected ways.


Bored with just floating about, the ice-caps decided to get this Global Warming business over in a day.


Candidates for President used the last few weeks of August for much needed maintenance.


Problems with the urban infrastructure continued apace.


After a shaky month, the economy rebounded on the strength of sales of just one new technological "must-have" as every male over the age of three ran out and bought one.


Pharmaceuticals also rebounded as Americans of all ages prepared for early primaries in lebenty-leben states.


The White House leaked its plan for an early withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan.

American kids everywhere prepared to go back to school in a nation where the concept of "busing" took on a whole new dimension....

And Internet users discovered some surprising new elements contained in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
