Instapundit Milestone?

If you take a look at this link at May 1st post @ Instapundit.com there's more to it than meets the eye.

The item, in its entirety, reads:
"IN BUSINESS WEEK, a rather skeptical look at ethanol as an alternative fuel."
but the raw link address reads:

I make that post # 30,000 by the internal counter at Instapundit.

Even at just one line a post -- that's one small post for a man, and one heaping pile of posts for a Pundit, even in the Insta mode.

Let us all offer up a silent prayer of thanks that Prof. Reynolds did not go actively into the Law and start filing briefs. Just think what the ACLU could have done to America with such a talent.

UPDATE: Glenn Reynolds confirms and adds, "Yeah. Of course, that's just since I moved to MT in May of 2002."

UPDATE: Poretto of Eternity Road makes this cogent observation in the comments: "Glenn Reynolds, with his telegraphic, link-rich style, popularized this medium. We owe him greatly. But there are others to whom we owe equally: they who've graced it with essays filled with serious thought; who've maintained high standards for courtesy and style; who've persevered in that effort despite a lack of remuneration; who've strained to sustain significant conversations on vital subjects; who've dared to contradict the conventional wisdom, and justified their stances with evidence and logic; who've trundled along for years with two- or three-digit readerships and have not complained.

"I value InstaPundit, but largely because InstaPundit assisted me in finding those others."

As George once sang, "I've got blisters on me fingers!"

Yes, but if you play it backwards, you hear "Glenn is a bloody chipmunk" - evidence that perhaps Mr. Reynolds is now himself, an aggregate of several other bloggers. After all, how is it possible that one person could devote so much time to blogging?

Beware the nanobots...
