Oxymoron of the Year

IT'S NOT NEW, but the behavior of the "profession" in the past year is bringing a whole new slant to the phrase "distinguished journalist."

I suggest that anyone interested in the nature of journalism should read Scoop, by Evelyn Waugh. Published in 1937, it was all true then and it's still true now. Read, and laugh your heart out.
