Is It Just Me?

"Star Wars ROTS!... Slowly I turn... step by step... inch by inch..."

I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD that is ready to take up a large, sharp, double-edged broad sword, and wade into the clots of lines, flailing randomly, until all about me are reduced to quivering gobbets of bloody flesh if I hear, read, or see one more item about the aptly acronymed Star Wars ROTS.

If only George Lucas had been impaled on a light saber in 1978 perhaps our long national nightmare would be over by now. But nooooooooooo!

I just don't understand American justice. On the one hand, this cruel country's prosecutors are forcing Michael Jackson to actually leave Wonderland on a daily basis, while on the other hand George Lucas is allowed to continue in his molestation of both children and those who never stopped being children with no end in sight. If ever there was a saga centered around some deep and twisted multigenerational father/son incest theme crawling up out of some deeply repressed childhood memory, it has got to be this spawn of the Lucas Id. In a just world, Lucas and Jackson would be life partners in a small cell arguing over who gets the top bunk and the teddy bear.

To make matters worse, the advent of ROTS is revealing the worm in the blogosphere's heart these days: All this repition is becoming -- step by step, inch by inch -- very, very boring.

Boy, you couldn't be more on the money like throwing darts in the center. The whole idea that this is back out, shoved on us everywhere, makes me sick to my stomach - and I do know some of those people who haven't grown up yet when it comes to the first and second movie made over 20 years ago. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I will not be one who'll see it either. I grew up a long time ago.

Couldn't agree with you more, Gerard. Fortunately I have the antidote to your malaise. Take a look at this ...

The last Lucas movie I saw was ``Return of the Jedi.'' I have ignored everything of his that followed. For your own peace of mind you might want to do the same.

Am I the only one giggling at "Slowly I turn..." ???

No, it's not just you. I blew a gasket on Friday.
