When the Snakes Start Exploding Out of People's Chests in Salt Lake Don't Blame NASA

Greetings from Salt Lake City

Okay, check me on this one.

1) We scoop up some stuff from a comet. Just a leetle bit of real interstellar dust which couldn't possibly contain life, or spores, or a teeny-tiny something from the birth of the universe sucked up into "Aerolgel." Let's call this operation something romantic and musical like... "Stardust".

2) We drop this stuff inside of a small re-entry vehicle at the "...planned landing site -- the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), southwest of Salt Lake City." This is also known as The Dugway Proving Grounds whose motto is "We see many sheep going in. None coming out."

[We note in passing the use of the phrase "planned landing site." We also note " The reentry to landing accuracy has been analyzed and found to be sufficient to achieve a landing footprint of 18 x 52 miles."]

3) When they find the capsule which should be intact somewhere in the 1,000 square miles where it should be, they'll be taking the comet's material off to the Johnson Space Center.

4) Nothing can go wrong and it will only be sterile space dust. There's nothing to these theories about life on comets.

5) Because there's nothing really to worry about: "On the basis of available information about the Moon, Io, dynamically new comets ... the task group concluded with a high degree of confidence that no special containment is warranted for samples returned from those bodies beyond what is needed for scientific purposes." Nothing can go wrong...go wrong...go wrong...go.....

I feel better now. Don't you?

If you ever saw a movie titled "Lifeforce
," you know that comets are infested with naked space vampires. I'm sure Utah is up to the challenge.

The world is a small space with so many wonders of all that happen's around her. You are right about the danger's of a craft coming back to earth. Yet can you go to another country without all the shot's one must have? Think about this Dave for some of us have been changed. You have for sure. Being alert to the world around one's self is a good thing. Most people do not think about the wonders of the mid world....meaning that some do not take air the way we do. Could this be a takeover of earth from another race.......NO.....IT IS A WARNING to us. For they live here also. The Majority of humans do not wish to see what is going on around them thier life is to the point that it is at time's food to mouth or I must better myself to fit in....or I can not find a job.....most do not see the danger of what could be,as well as what is already in the works. Most are to busy buying the earth things so they can not see. What an awaking when they are forced to see. The Others tried to go to our "Heart Of our World" when they did not hear they came to the children of earth. That Dear Dave is us..........Later's Deb

I am a scientist (generalist, Earth and space sciences). That space dust that crash-landed to Earth recently by accident may, I repeat may, possibly contaminate the environment with some kind of "exotic" life forms, microbes, etc. It happens all the time on Earth when ships travel from port to port, carrying "exotic" species from say Asia to the USA (example: Zebra mussells, certain seaweed species, etc. that attach to ships). Unfortunately, these exotic species often do great damage to the local, indigenous environment as they are not supposed to be there.
