Trump Cancels 2020 Election Over Coronavirus Concerns | “It’s just too risky,” President Trump told the press while standing behind a sneeze guard. “We’ll get all these people gathered together at rallies or lined up to vote, and they’re all going to get sick. And Bernie and Biden — they’re just so old. Sending them around crowds campaigning is basically trying to murder them. Anyway, it just seems pointless for a bunch of people to die when everyone knows I was going to win anyway.”

Don Surber: Biden goes all in on corona virus What blooms in March won’t last through November. Biden is pinning his hopes on the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans. That is a very ghoulish and foolish bet. But what else does he have to offer?

NY Times reporter: “disdain for and distrust of the media right now is worse than I’ve seen at any point throughout this presidency” What did you expect from exploiting a public health crisis to help Democrats, and using false accusations of racism as a cudgel?

Liberty’s Torch: Two Clichés To Accommodate The editors of the Times will endorse the Democrat nominee as the candidate to prefer…because shut up, you ignorant chauvinist Neanderthal rube, you.
They endorsed outright racist Lyndon Johnson.
They endorsed inept, melodramatic Hubert Humphrey.
They endorsed mush-brained George McGovern.
They endorsed muddled peanut farmer Jimmy Carter.
They endorsed nonentities Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis.
They endorsed lying philanderer Bill Clinton and his vicious, unprincipled “wife” Hillary.
And of course, they endorsed lying, vacuous, anti-American Barack Hussein Obama.

Reusable Grocery Bags Can Sustain COVID-19 and Flu Viruses The COVID-19 outbreak is giving new meaning to those “sustainable” shopping bags that politicians and environmentalists have been so eager to impose on the public. These reusable tote bags can sustain the COVID-19 and flu viruses—and spread the viruses throughout the store. Researchers have been warning for years about the risks of these bags spreading deadly viral and bacterial diseases, but public officials have ignored their concerns, determined to eliminate single-use bags and other plastic products despite their obvious advantages in reducing the spread of pathogens. In New York State, a new law took effect this month banning single-use plastic bags in most retail businesses, and this week Democratic state legislators advanced a bill that would force coffee shops to accept consumers’ reusable cups—a practice that Starbucks and other chains have wisely s

Well, speaking of hoarding, gotta run to my gun store to check out the new AR-14 Joe Biden spoke of at the auto plant. He also argued that nobody “needed” 100 rounds of ammo. Oh my. If that’s 9 mm, the idiot is talking about ONE BOX. Gone in maybe 15 minutes at the range. Twenty-some “contendas” in the Dem primary and this is what is left. Well done, Democrats, you must be so proud!

Wall Street” is not a place in Manhattan or the businesses that are (and traditionally were) headquartered in the neighborhood. Wall Street, like so many things in our politics, the fight isn’t really about the thing the fight pretends to be about. “ It is a vapor of anxiety and resentment, a shorthand for the incomprehensible complexity of modern business life that has its uses in the imbecilic politics of our time and in the vast apparatus of self-moronization that enables that politics.

Gronsky said to Stalin, ”You know, Iosif Vissarionovich, our farmers are dying here — millions of them.” Stalin replied, “Let them die, they’re just trying to sabotage us.” Think of that the next time you see Maxine Waters, Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff, Don Lemon, Rachel Maddow or any of the other demagogues, miscreants, windbags and lickspittles of Progressivism calling for Donald Trump to be brought down and destroyed. Is it any wonder they hate President Trump with such relentless venom? He is our best, perhaps even our last, hope to sabotage them. The Progressives appear crazy but are not mad — they are just Progressives. Kulak is the Russian Word for ‘Deplorable’ – American Thinker

Boomer-Os Killed The Summer Job Star – I note that support for explicitly socialist government is growing by leaps and bounds. Some of my friends think this is because the Millennials are stupid. “Don’t they know that they won’t be the people who benefit from a communist government?” This is what I think the proto-socialists have figured out:
* In the event of a Red Revolution in this country, they have a very slim chance of becoming part of the nomenklatura who have power, real estate, and freedom to determine their own lives.
* If there is no Red Revolution, they have precisely zero chance of ever owning a home, saving for retirement, or starting a traditional family.

This is where the situation in our country becomes dangerous. As long as there is some chance of succeeding in the current state of affairs, people will generally play along. If you take away all of their hope, they have nothing to lose. Talk about bread lines and mending old clothes doesn’t frighten people who have already internalized the fact that they will be earning close to starvation wages for their entire lives. This is particularly true if they have no children who would be at risk. It’s a roll of the dice for them and things can only come up better.

Joe Biden is still only 4:1, despite regaling a bunch of black people on national television with a story of how when he was working as a lifeguard, black children would rub the hair on his naked legs and the cilia will respond like roach limbs branching out from a thorax:  Perhaps his senility is the selling point for the ruling class; it makes him easy to control Re: National Review’s turn into total insanity, they’ve actually hired on Armand White, whose bizarre film reviews make Uncle Joe’s demented ramblings seem sane. There’s no way they have even the vestiges of an organic audience at this point (aside from hate readers, like us) if he’s there. Although if you want to find out what Transformers 5 has in common with French Cinema Verite, he’s your man.

The pandemic prattle We can know that panic is, not seldom, but never helpful, and we live in a time when the technical means of spreading panic have advanced suddenly and tremendously. They are intentionally abetted. The crisis will be –is being –” used for political ends, which must necessarily undermine the blesséd “stay calm and carry on” impulse. On the other hand, there is no more way to stop a panic, until it has burnt itself out than to stop a novel virus; at best we can slow it if the public authorities are factual and candid. But what will be, will be. Such pain as may be coming will come.

LET’S REVIEW: In Bernie Land, $42 Trillion in Revenue Pays for $97 Trillion in Spending First, it is worth noting that Sanders’ spending promises total as much as $97.5 trillion over the decade. Sanders concedes that his Medicare For All plan would increase federal spending by “somewhere between $30 and $40 trillion over a 10-year period.” He has promised to spend $16.3 trillion on his climate plan. And his proposal to guarantee all Americans a full-time government job paying $15 an hour, with full benefits, is estimated to cost $30.1 trillion. The final $11.1 trillion includes $2.5 trillion on housing, $1.8 trillion to expand Social Security, $1.6 trillion on paid family leave, $1 trillion on infrastructure, $3 trillion to forgive all student loans and guarantee free public-college tuition, $800 billion on general K-12 education spending, and an additional $400 billion on higher public school teacher salaries.

Turkey Proves Refugees are a Weapon, So Treat Them Like One America lost every war in the last three generations because we were willing to die, but not to kill. The Europeans are neither willing to die nor kill. And so, the continent is being overrun by those who are… Migrants are a weapon. They’re one of the more potent human missiles in the arsenal of globalism which has shifted the future from the technocratic upstarts of western civilization with their skyscrapers and empty houses of worship, to the old civilizations of Asia which have the relentless will to take them. American police officers were prevented from fighting crime because of all the people who would be locked up and maybe even shot. And now Baltimore has racked up 50 murders in just two months. Our soldiers were prevented from killing terrorists to save civilian lives, and thousands of our soldiers, and countless civilians died, and entire regions devolved into savage bloodlands of ethnic cleansing…. Europe allowed its cities to be swarmed before and thousands of women were raped, bombs and vehicles were used as weapons in crowded streets, and it still hasn’t learned to say “no” and mean it.

Solarians by Isaac Asimov Before their disappearance, the Solarian society placed extreme value on individualism and abhorrence of personal contact. Each person was proud of the size of his estate, and one of the signs of a large, self sufficient estate, was that one didn’t need to meet other people. Within a relatively short time, it became obscene and outright disgusting to tolerate the physical presence of another person. All business was conducted through extremely lifelike holographic communication, normally referred to as “viewing”. Physical presence was only tolerated in case of a doctor’s visits, which were very rare, and among spouses, limited to contacts for the sake of procreation even there. While viewing, however, even full nudity was completely acceptable.

Children were conceived in accordance with strict population control. A month after conception, the fetus was extracted and brought to a centralized facility, where it was put in artificial wombs. Each child was born and raised in a manner that taught him to hate physical presence. Upon being raised, spouses were assigned to each other based on genetics. Each spouse lived on a separate half of a huge mansion. After producing the required kids, the couple presumably went to live in separate estates.

re: “Solarians by Isaac Asimov ”
Isaac Asimov had a brother, Stanley Asimov, who was the editor of Long Island Newsday (a daily newspaper in the NYC suburbs); Stanley’s son Eric was a Food & Restaurant Critic for the NY Times, and his daughter Nanette writes for the San Francisco Chronicle. Eric’s wife, Deborah Hofmann, is a former-editor of The New York Times Best Seller List .

Standard boxes of 9mm target ammo are 50 rounds. Expensive ammo for serious purposes sometimes come in boxes of twenty.

  • Mike Anderson March 13, 2020, 3:42 PM

When I want to burn through 100 rounds of 9mm in 15 minutes (BIG FUN!), I buy that cheap Russian steel-case Tula ammo, which can, indeed, be found in 100-round packages. Downside: steel-case doesn’t run well in all guns (Hooray, Steyr!), upside: you can pick up your “brass” with a cheapo Harbor Freight magnet stick.

  • ghostsniper March 13, 2020, 6:07 PM

I burn solid brass only, and if you’re buying 50 or 100 rd boxes you’re spending too much and not shooting enough. http://www.ammoseek.com is your friend.

I always police my brass and have almost 2 55 gal drums worth to prove it. Yeah, more than 20k rds in about 10 years. Some day I might reload them.

Stephen King has full-on Trump Derangement Syndrome, so some time I ago I stopped reading him. But it’s good to see that he has at least a few working brain cells, enough to tell people not to panic re COVID-19. I’ll give him that much credit.

Those guys with all the paper think they’re going to get rich selling it on eBay and Amazon. And you can make good money, briefly, but shipping is a bear. Amazon has deals with shippers, and can ship a big pack of TP inexpensively, but those guys don’t. The bottle of hand sanitizer they bought at Dollar Tree for a buck, and sold for $20, costs $10 to ship, because the post office is leery of alcohol. Add in the time to and materials for packaging, and it gets pretty thin on profit. Sure, there’s lots of deductibles in the equation, but now you need an accountant….

Toilet paper doesn’t expire, evaporate or leak, and it will only spoil if you store it someplace where it can get wet. I suppose there are places in Florida where the humidity and the cockroaches will destroy it, but that’s Florida.
