The heaviness of fame and fans | Armed and Dangerous   Jordan B. Peterson is a big thinker, a psychologist and mythographer and synthesist who may be – or at least be becoming – the most important moral critic of our time. But it is not merely the breadth and brilliance of Peterson’s thought that is impressive, it is the personal qualities that shine through in his lectures – a foundation of intellectual courage and humility that underpins his thought. What he is is an important part of the persuasion for what he thinks.

New word, progsanity: willful political, historical, and social amnesia commonly found among progressives when convenient to advance a radical agenda; the rewriting of history, including recent developments and the refutation of logic and its substitution by loud screaming, sneering, and violence, all justified by “the cause,” to wit, the destruction of Western values, norms, and civilization. The DiploMad 2.0: Progsanity

Re: Infamous Fake Photos That Once Fooled The World. Those photos are laughably bad, worse than Photoshop, and one wonders how anyone could ever have believed they were real. But even the P.T. Barnum quote “There’s a sucker born every minute” may be a hoax within a hoax.

Something I leaned recently was that the invention of the X-Ray image, before the turn of the 20th C., was upsetting on a mass scale. Philosophers and lunatics alike were seeing it as a next-order threat to the world, I guess.
