Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.
Duty, Beauty, Liberty, Country, Honor, Family, Faith — Plus a few simple easy to follow rules for guys
The Vault
Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

Whoever came up with the idea that person A gets to tell person B what is essential needs to gobble a bag of dix.
Now if only someone would tell the Catholic bishops to open the churches.
That could backfire, badly, and should. Because that order would have to include any and all denominations. You want to hold a really good party? Declare your nightclub to be a temple to Bacchus. It would get tax breaks, too.
Um, well, considering what some tax money goes toward (NPR, Kennedy Center, COVID relief to Harvard, the FBI, and for all we know, military assistance to Ebonia) a tax break for worshipers of Bacchus might be an improvement, or at least not any worse……….I mean, given a choice of a tax break for Joe’s Bar down the street, or Planned Parenthood, I’m not seeing much downside to helping out Joe………..
You are not off the mark, Ghostsniper, and for those in want of gobbling, well, Michigan’s Half-Whitmer evidently is willing to allow that gobbling dix is essential, but a good haircut is not.
More seriously, President Trump’s declaration that churches are essential; and by the way, Fletcher, President Trump’s statement covered all those denominations you claim you are so concerned about; is a KABOOM! statement. While it is pitiful that churches and worship have to be declared essential by the POTUS, if one considers the ramifications of the POTUS making such a statement in light of the cultural rot so applauded by Trump’s opponents right and left, it is a bold leadership statement.
As to the Catholic bishops’ lack of spine to keep their churches open during these tyrannical lockdowns, well, it displays for all to see that the bishops are more inclined to the adhere to the laws of man, than God.
Bishop Wack (Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee) let us start Masses last week. He’s a good one.
Congratulations, America. Gawd I love this guy, and wish we had leaders up here like him in Canada. As it is, our pink-socked faggot of a PM just announced a raft of gun bans in the midst of this pandemic nonsense. It’s time to get in the faces of these leftist morons, and tell them where to go and how to get there.
@John, what a horrifying place this country is becoming, soon decent people will be trapped in their homes permanently while deranged maniacs run loose everywhere. Some “professional” people need to start “eliminating” places like described in the article you linked to. When degenerates realize there is a severe penalty for their behavior they will reconsider whether losing their life for it is worthwhile. And that governor? Get a rope. I got the truck and trailer hitch.
