Breaking News / Ranks: “This newspaper has not supported a Republican for president since 1972.”

Above: Pan shot of the more than 57,000 that attended last night’s rally in Pennsylvania.

Excerpt from the editorial: The man and the record | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Donald Trump is not Churchill, to be sure, but he gets things done.

He is not a unifier. He often acts like the president of his base, not the whole country. He has done nothing to lessen our divisions and has, in fact, often deepened them. The convictions and intellect of all Americans should be respected by ALL Americans, especially the president.

Has Mr. Trump handled the pandemic perfectly? No. But no one masters a pandemic. And the president was and is right that we must not cower before the disease and we have to keep America open and working.

He has not listened well to people who could have helped him. He has not learned government, or shown interest in doing so.

But the Biden-Harris ticket offers us higher taxes and a nanny state that will bow to the bullies and the woke who would tear down history rather than learning from history and building up the country.

It offers an end to fracking and other Cuckoo California dreams that will cost the economy and the people who most need work right now. “Good-paying green jobs” are probably not jobs for Pittsburgh, or Cleveland, or Toledo, or Youngstown.

It offers softness on China, which Mr. Trump understands is our enemy.

Mr. Biden is too old for the job, and fragile. There is a very real chance he will not make it through the term. Mr. Trump is also too old but seemingly robust. But in Mike Pence, Mr. Trump has a vice president ready to take over, if need be. He is a safe pair of hands. Sen. Kamala Harris gives no evidence of being ready to be president.

This newspaper has not supported a Republican for president since 1972. But we believe Mr. Trump, for all his faults, is the better choice this year. We respect and understand those who feel otherwise. We wish that we could be more enthusiastic and we hope the president can become more dignified and statesmanlike. Each American must make up his or her own mind and do what he or she thinks is best for the community and the republic. Vote your conscience. And, whatever happens, believe in the country.

This is a huge endorsement for President Trump. Pittsburgh is known for its hard working blue collar work ethic and as a reader of the paper I can say they have not always been fair to our President. The rubber just met the road. They did the honorable thing.

“ Mr. Trump, for all his faults, is the better choice this year.”

Ya think? Don’t strain yourselves. How about “the ONLY choice”? The moronic Harris/Biden “lowest common denominator” ticket are running headlong into the left field fence straight into the parking lot, where six people await with face diapers sitting in lawn chairs set in spaced circles painted on the tarmac, while Biden shows up for five minutes of unintelligible yelling of the Left’s lies about the best POTUS America has seen in ages. So, Post-Gazette editors, don’t choke too hard swallowing that bitter pills.

A left handed compliment, to be sure. As for this little snippet:

He has not listened well to people who could have helped him. He has not learned government, or shown interest in doing so.

I pray President Trump continues to not listen well, and does not learn government, as it has been practiced since especially the time of FDR, as knowledge of this type only would continue to drive America into the ground.

Let’s keep things in perspective: Trump isn’t Churchillian. Rather, Churchill was Trumpian.

  • Harry November 1, 2020, 9:01 AM

“Good paying green jobs;” those would be selling government subsidized Priuses to wealthy white suburbanites.

“He has not learned government, or shown interest in doing so.”

Hahaha! He is a businessman. He has learned all he will ever need to know about government – That is: Government is too big, inefficient, wasteful and costs too much!….and the current grade of state actors, by and large, are crooked, power-grabbing commie leaning shit-birds.

What else is there to “learn”?

Good for this newspaper. There is no choice. Life or death. Ridiculous Wall Street Journal hedged in their main editorial and allowed dinosaur clueless kool-aid drinking Peggy Noonan voice her vote for Biden.

At this crucial point in time, I honestly do NOT see any possible way for Basement Biden to win- EVEN with the potential threat of massive voter fraud.
Face it- even the slowest-witted Liberal/Democrat can’t possibly excuse the GAZILLION brain-freezes, lie-filled gibberish, and painfully apparent lack of coherence that Joe has constantly displayed for months and months. Crackhead Hunter’s recent revelations have just piled more icing on that cake. The few Liberal friends I have left all completely avoid discussing Joe, obviously out of embarrassment, and a couple of them have expressed that they refuse to vote at all.

In other words, even Demwits know that the USA is at stake, and Trump is our only salvation.
Vote, pray, and have faith. We will WIN.

    For additional context:

The last Republican mayor of Pittsburgh left office in 1934.

That’s how Democrat the City of Pittsburgh is.

They aren’t loony-left like Portland, but there is a huge union-legacy D base in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

For the PG to endorse Trump is big big big.

I am more than a little surprised that nobody (that includes everybody here) has mentioned that rally hosted, including those outside) garnered MORE THAN 57,000!

F~ck that rag that seems to be some sort of “big deal”. Ya think the folk at that rally give a rats-ass about an “endorsement “? And how many there have talked to?

    Rhetorical question…

  • James O'Neil November 1, 2020, 1:59 PM

Just to ‘plain it to any democrats willing to listen, it’s Donald Trump or the Camel.

Why yes, poor old Slow Joe did commit suicide when he let them put Camel la Harris on the ticket.

  • Snakepit Kansas November 1, 2020, 3:25 PM

    andre,
I hear you. Peggy Noonan lost my respect a very long time ago.

  • Sisjustjen November 1, 2020, 3:35 PM

He’s a man of the People. And rich.
I don’t doubt his love for our country one bit.
And he ain’t afraid to pray.

Listen here to who he values…

‘Trump, for all of his faults……”??!! In friggin’ deed. His ‘faults’ are knowing how to expertly pull a nation of over 325mm people into a prosperous economy, how to face down a death dealing North Korean thug who was threatening anyone he thought he might be able to hit with a nuke, how to reverse decades of Clinton, Bush and other left wing democratic economic policies that are robbing Americans of the benefits of fair trade with China and others, how to take on the continuous, unending assaults by the MSM and fight his way through the attacks of the entire Democratic Party to have him removed by impeachment on lies that are nearly too deep to untangle and separate…… I could go on but I won’t….point made. But wait…..Screw the corona virus. China created it and released it. Despite all of our intel, no one saw that coming and no one living has ever had to reckon with a pandemic like this. Trump has done fine and no one living could have done better or that would have occurred.

President Trump loves this nation and has fought for Americans of every color and gender and in doing so he has also inspired the Democratic Party to reveal itself, without any doubt at all, to be a Communist organization and its members and supporters to be communists, too. It has been a marxist love group for years but Mr. Trump made it remove its mask.

He has forced these left wing sob bastards to come unglued and to show the entire country that there is no longer any such animal as a Democratic Party! Sure these Communists can hide behind that label but anyone with a brain who knows anything about the communist movement knows good and well that in this election America is peopled by two distinct types:

Conservative Patriotic Capitalist Americans, lovers of country and freedom (and mostly lovers of God) who desire to live in a Republic and who had damned well better be ready to take up arms in defense of America as she is

    or

Communists. Home grown sons of bitches. Haters of this nation. Neighbors and business associates, relatives and more, all with whom we have shared citizenship and life but with whom we can no longer live peacefully. Neighbors who have signified that they will willing follow the Bolshevik’s who destroyed Russia, China, Cambodia, Vietnam and North Korea and those who oppose them ‘be damned’.

These Americans may not understand that they are marxists but THEY ARE. And, if they support anything being proffered by the so-called democrats, Biden, Harris, AOC and any other left wing plan or agenda, they are as guilty as all of those who have previously supported any of the so-called “revolutions” that permitted the installation and governance of people under any kind of ‘socialist’ regime.

You have to hand it to Putin for packing those venues with Russian operatives disguised as regular American citizens right under the nose of the media!

  • Dirk November 3, 2020, 7:05 AM

Trumps a man, not a god. His faults are many, as are mine. New Yorkers are weird Ducks, ” nothing personal”. We support this imperfect man to the bone. The United States is to important to allow politicians to manage her.

A man/woman with big business wins AND losses, is the ideal president. Donald has truly exposed the soft underbelly of the left for all to see. Sadly I lost friends yesterday when they told me they voted Biden.

We don’t do “left anything”, I will truly miss these men, their families. Told em so. Also told em this.

“All it takes for evil to prevail, if for good men to do nothing!. ” in our eyes, the left is truly, evil.

I pray I have the strength, the courage, the wisdom to address what’s to come.

    Dirk
