Bad Moon Rising: Lunar eclipse on the 4th of July

If we believed in omens it would seem as if something somewhere was trying to send us a message…

New York City will end U.S. Independence Day (July 4) with the penumbral lunar eclipse. Starting at 11:07 p.m. local time, the moon will begin to slide into Earth’s outer shadow. At eclipse maximum (12:29 a.m. on Sunday, July 5), no more than half of the moon’s face will take on a darker shade. About an hour and a half after maximum, at 1:52 a.m., the event ends. The entire eclipse will last 2 hours and 45 minutes. Lunar Eclipse 2020 Guide: When, Where & How to See Them | Space

One eye is taken for an eye

I see a bad moon a-rising
I see trouble on the way
I see earthquakes and lightnin’
I see bad times today

Don’t go ’round tonight
It’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the rise

I hear hurricanes a-blowing
I know the end is coming soon
I fear rivers overflowing
I hear the voice of rage and ruin

Don’t go ’round tonight
It’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the rise

I hope you got your things together
I hope you are quite prepared to die
Look’s like we’re in for nasty weather
One eye is taken for an eye

Oh don’t go ’round tonight
It’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the rise
There’s a bad moon on the rise

‘Fond’ memories from 1969-1970. Hope there isn’t another ‘bad moon rising’ now (on the plus side, at least I won’t have to fly 13,000 miles to deal with it).

Always an awesome song. Chaos then, chaos now. Pray

Most of the chaos “then” was in 1967 because the Democrats had a tough opponent for president. Just as the last big Antifa riots was 2007 when Obama was trying to get elected. If I remember correctly 1979 was a chaos year too. These riots are political and staged/funded by the Democrats.

More interesting is the description of this eclipse, that it is being described as barely perceptible by many. Very apropos of the times we live in. Meanwhile, next up: pestilence! India, Pakistan, Arabian peninsula, Africa are losing crops to a plague of locusts. And now they are in South America. Fun times ahead!
